Christian

Home State: Nevada

Christian is a Dreamer residing in Nevada. He was born in Mexico and came to the United States at just 6 years old in search of a better life alongside his family. Before immigrating, Christian only had the opportunity to attend first grade in Mexico, but arriving in the United States opened the door to opportunities he could only dream of as a child.

Growing up in the United States, Christian learned English, made lifelong friendships, and graduated high school with his diploma in Panama City, Florida. During high school at Bay High, he joined the Air Force JROTC program, where he discovered his passion for leadership, discipline, and service. Throughout the program, he led more than 100+ cadets in various leadership positions and proudly earned various awards from different organizations in his community including his 4 year certificate of completion from the program. His dream was to continue serving by joining the United States Air Force, but because he was not a permanent resident, he was unable to pursue a military career — a moment that deeply impacted him because serving the country that gave his family hope had always been his goal.

Despite these obstacles, Christian refused to give up on building a better future. Through determination and hard work, he earned a full-ride scholarship through TheDream.US and attended Purdue University Global, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Today, at 27 years old, Christian serves as an Assistant General Manager for BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, where he has worked in restaurant management for over six years at various concepts and most recently now helping oversee an $8-10 million annual business operation in the state of Nevada.

Christian continues to lead with integrity, resilience, and determination—values he first learned through Air Force JROTC. As a DACA recipient, he strives every day to set a positive example, contribute to his community, and show that Dreamers are hardworking individuals who only want the opportunity to succeed and give back to the country they call home.

Despite the uncertainty and challenges many DACA recipients face, Christian continues to pursue growth, leadership, and stability for both himself and his family. His story reflects perseverance, sacrifice, and the belief that opportunity can change lives.
